Kanta Prasad, the owner of the small restaurant ‘Baba ka Dhaba’ that was recently the center of attention on social media, opened a new restaurant in the Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi on Monday. The new restaurant has also been named ‘Baba ka Dhaba’.
“Today we have opened a restaurant that is close to my little restaurant. We will serve Indian and Chinese cuisine and we have hired two chefs for it. I will continue to operate my old restaurant as well, ”said Prasad.
The 80-year-old man said he opened the restaurant in rented accommodation.
Tushant Adlakha, a social worker who also works with Prasad, said the restaurant will start operating from Wednesday.
“Today was the opening of the restaurant. Prasad will take two days to set up the kitchen and, starting Wednesday, they will start serving food to customers. They have dining and take out options. They have hired two chefs and the rest of their family members are helping out at the restaurant, ”Adlakha said.
Prasad rose to fame after a video of him speaking through tears about the financial distress he has faced in the months since a man shot and shared widely on social media platforms.
Nearly a month after his video went viral, Prasad had filed a complaint against the YouTuber for alleged embezzlement.
In his complaint to the police, Prasad had alleged that the man who filmed and posted the video “intentionally and deliberately shared only his bank details and those of his family / friends and mobile phone numbers with donors and collected a large amount of donations. … without providing any information to the complainant ”.
