However, Rakesh Ahuja, the man who sings in the viral video, and the hospital administration have clarified that the video is not recent and is from September-October 2019.
The video was also shared by ABP News journalist Vikas Bhadauria and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, with a similar narrative. He tweeted: “Breaking images of King Masala Mahashay Dharampal (MDH), his heart kept beating for the country even at the last moment.” However, he later tweeted that he later found out that the video is old.
Under the tweet, a user named Gagan Ahuja had said that the man singing in the video is his relative Rakesh Ahuja. He said: “Man in red shirt, singing this song is my older brother Rakesh Ahuja from Ambala … What a moving moment.” Ahuja also shared a post on Facebook that carried the video viral and mentioned that Mahashay ‘Dharampal Gulati had not held up well for almost a year. The post further mentioned that Rakesh Ahuja, the man seen singing in the video, had gone to meet Gulati and sang the MDH owner’s favorite song, after consulting with doctors.
Ahuja was quoted in a Quint report as saying: “The viral video is from September-October 2019. Mahashay Dharampalji had fallen down so I went to meet him at the hospital and that’s when I sang a song to him. We have close family relationships with him. He had asked me to sing this song and even the doctors said we had to make him energetic. “He further confirmed that the video was taken at Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in New Delhi.
The Hospital’s administration department has also confirmed that the video is old. While the exact date of the video is not confirmed as according to Ahuja ‘Mahashay’ Dharampal was admitted to the hospital several times, it does not show his last moments.
