The Central Board of Secondary Education will hold board exams for classes 10 and 12 from May 4 to June 10, 2021 and the results of the board exams will likely be announced before July 15, 2021, it announced on Thursday the union education minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal.

The practical exams will take place from March 1. The date sheet was announced by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Thursday night in a live video aimed at students.

Practical exams generally take place in January and written exams begin in February and conclude in March. However, examinations are being delayed this session in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The three-month delay due to the pandemic has raised concerns about the impact on college admissions, especially for those who intend to study abroad.

“Board exams for classes 10 and 12 will be held from May 4 to June 10. Schools will be able to take practical exams starting March 1. The date sheet for both classes will be due soon. Results will be declared before July 15. “Pokhriyal announced. Several schools have already conducted pre-board exams online to keep students prepared.

The CBSE had announced earlier this month that the board’s exams in 2021 will be conducted in written mode and not online. Schools across the country were closed in March to contain the spread of COVID-19. They were partially reopened in some states as of October 15.

However, some states have decided to keep them closed in light of an increase in the number of infections. This year’s board exams had to be postponed to mid-March. They were later canceled and the results announced on the basis of an alternative evaluation plan.
