Noida:
More than 1,300 people who were found without masks in public places received challans in Noida and Greater Noida amid the COVID-19 outbreak, police said Sunday.
Police Commissioner Alok Singh ordered officials to criticize people who do not adhere to COVID-19 protocols in public places, according to a statement.
“A total of 1,312 people received challans (on Saturday) for not wearing face protection or mask while in a public place and were charged Rs 1.31 lakh in fines,” it added.
On Friday, district police had issued challans to more than 1,200 people in Noida and Greater Noida for similar violations.
Police have asked people to follow COVID-19 protocols, such as wearing face masks and practicing social distancing outdoors, and have warned that action be taken against criminals.
