Activist lawyer Prashant Bhushan said on Monday that he will present the symbolic Re 1 fine imposed by the Supreme Court in the contempt case for his tweets against the judiciary, but also indicated that he would file a review statement against the order. Bhushan said that he has the highest respect for the judiciary and that the tweets were not intended to disrespect the higher court or the judiciary.
“I reserve the right to present a review, I propose to present it and pay the fine as directed by the court,” Bhushan told a news conference.
