Yasir Shah threw 16 overs without wicketless on the first day.
The Boxing Day test match between New Zealand and Pakistan started on Saturday with the visitors winning the draw and opting to pitch first. They got off to a good start with Shaheen Afridi swinging the new ball up front and cutting Tom Latham and Tom Blundell without much on the board. However then Kane williamson and Ross Taylor hit well with his defensive hitting, frustrating Pakistani bowlers.
Although the latter came out after a well-done 70, Henry Nicholls joined his patron to make sure New Zealand didn’t give away the advantage. Pakistan was to blame for dropping the two batters once each. Not surprisingly, Yasir Shah was frustrated that he was unable to make breakthrough despite consistently bowling well.
In the final 77th of innings, the leg thrower made a decent pitch that Nicholls tried to cut and missed. Goalkeeper Mohammad Rizwan picked up the ball but there was no advantage and the batter survived. Yasir Shah was desperate for a window and, frustrated, ended up shouting in a funny way: “Out ho jaa bhootni ke.” (which roughly translates as: “Out man”).

New Zealand ends on 3/22
In regards to the game of the day, New Zealand did well after losing a couple of early wickets. Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor stitched a 120-run bracket for the third wicket. After the latter left, Nicholls made sure not to give away his window. He was lucky, although he fell once, but he made tourists pay for his mistake.
Williamson, on the other end, once again looked at the others playing some flashy shots. He finished the day undefeated at 94 when the Kiwis racked up 222 runs to lose three in 87 overs. Yasir Shah delivered 16 overs on the day, but couldn’t make much of an impact conceding 56 runs. Pakistan will have to bowl well on the second day to have any chance of winning the Test Match and, most importantly, keep their chances.
