Noida and Ghaziabad, the twin cities that border the national capital, Delhi, have again imposed the limit on the number of guests to be invited to weddings.
According to the Hindustan Times’ sister publication Hindustan, the district administration in Noida and Ghaziabad has restricted the number of guests and weddings and other functions to 100.
Authorities have also said violators will face tough action, according to Hindustan. The decision was made due to an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Uttar Pradesh recorded 2,326 new infections on Saturday, bringing the state count to 5,24,223, according to the health department. Twenty-four new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 7,524, authorities said.

Meanwhile, the national capital, Delhi, has witnessed an increase in coronavirus cases since October 28, when the number of daily cases surpassed the 5,000 mark for the first time, and recorded the highest peak in a single day of 8,593 cases on November 11. this week it limited the number of guests to wedding functions to 50, reverting to its previous order.
The Uttar Pradesh government has already started randomly screening people coming from Delhi due to the increase in the number of cases.
Delhi recorded 6,608 new Covid-19 cases in one day, bringing the infection count on Friday to more than 5.17 lakh, while 118 more deaths during the same period brought the death toll to 8,159. The positivity rate stands at 10.59 percent.
