According to user feedback on the OnePlus forum, they received a stable OTA update via the OxygenOS 11 Beta 3 system update. After the update, boom !!! all your data is gone. This has been on for some time, but OnePlus has just officially confirmed the situation. In a new post on its forum, OnePlus confirmed that the problem existed and explained it.
It appears that some users report receiving the stable on Public Beta 3, leading to a complete deletion of the data. This information has already been shared with the software team so that it can be verified and addressed. In the meantime, if you receive an OTA update, please double confirm if it is an Open Beta update. If not, DO NOT install it
The OnePlus update method for Hydrogen OS and Oxygen OS is usually close test, open test, or stable release. Judging from the current situation, some public beta users seem to have accidentally received a channel update from the stable version, and this update will erase all user data.
OnePlus warns that any OTA update you receive, check to see if it is a public beta. If not, do not install the update; otherwise all your data will disappear. Also, the company recommends a full backup before attempting any updates.
