- According to a OnePlus spokesperson, the OnePlus 7 series will see Android 11 in December 2020.
- That means the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro should have Oxygen OS 11 by the end of 2020.
- This contradicts rumors that the series would not see the update until 2021.
Today, Android Authority received news from a OnePlus spokesperson confirming the Android 11 update schedule for the OnePlus 7 series. According to OnePlus, the company plans to roll out Oxygen OS 11 on the 7 series phones in December 2020.

This confirmation contradicts recent rumors suggesting that it could be 2021 before the OnePlus 2019 flagships see Android 11.
Given that the 7 series features two slightly different chipsets, the Snapdragon 855 for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro and the 855 Plus for the 7T and 7T Pro, the updates will likely land at slightly different times. In theory, the 7T series should see the update first, followed shortly after by the 7 series.
OnePlus 7 Android 11 Updates
OnePlus has had a long reputation for delivering Android updates at a fast pace. However, that reputation is built on the idea that the brand only releases two phones a year. Recently, the company’s portfolio has expanded significantly, putting pressure on its update speeds, no doubt.
Obviously, most OnePlus owners would expect the Android 11 update to roll out even faster. However, December 2020 will likely outperform many other 2019 flagships from rival brands such as Samsung.
When it lands, the OnePlus 7 Android 11 update should take with it most of the Oxygen OS 11 features present in the just-released OnePlus 8T. That should include an option for an always-on display, although that won’t be confirmed until beta software arrives.
