New Delhi: In a strong attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, actor-turned-politician and MNM chief Kamal Haasan said Wednesday that the idea of ”one” always leads to “dictatorship and oppression.”
“A nation, a law, a religion, Hindi as the only language, a food, a prime minister. History has shown that ‘one’ has always led to dictatorship and oppression, “Haasan said in a tweet.
“In an unequal society where there is no equality of justice or social justice, it is a great injustice to say ‘only’!” he said further.
Haasan, who on Monday confirmed his participation in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, previously criticized Prime Minister Modi for the construction of a new Parliament building.
“To protect who is being built a new Parliament building at a cost of 1 billion rupees when half of India is hungry due to the coronavirus pandemic caused the loss of livelihoods,” asked the leader of Makkal Needhi. Maiam in a tweet.
He also compared the proposed construction of the new Parliament building to the centuries-old Great Wall of China and said that “thousands of people died” during its construction, but the rulers of the dragon nation said the wall was to “protect” the people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a new Parliament building on December 10 and also held the inauguration ceremony for the structure, which is expected to be completed in 2022.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections are scheduled for April-May 2021.
