The wife and son of a superior officer were shot and killed, allegedly by the officer’s teenage daughter, at their Lucknow home on Saturday, police said.

Police said they detained the girl who they claimed had admitted to the killings. While the reason is still unknown, police said he suffers from depression.

“We received information in the afternoon that there was a murder in the home of a superior officer. While the officer is stationed in Delhi, his family lives here. After arriving at the house, we found two bodies. We were informed that the officer’s wife and son were shot. The son was shot in the head. Because there was so much blood, we were unable to find out the mother’s injuries, ”said Lucknow Police Commissioner Sujeet Pandey.

“When we conducted an investigation, we found that the murders were committed by the daughter. She had shot her mother and brother. We have taken the weapon. She has confessed to the crime and has also told us that she was injured with a knife. We have recovered the knife and her right hand was bandaged. The wounds were visible after we opened the bandage. There were also old wounds. So far, it has come to light that she suffers from depression. We questioned her in front of her maternal grandfather… We will send her to a home for minors later. Until then, we will take care of her. Her father is on the way, ”said Commissioner Pandey.

According to the police, there were six to seven domestic helpers in the house when the murder occurred. The weapon used in the crime was a 22-caliber pistol, police said.

“The reason seems to be depression. In the bathroom, she has written “disqualified human” which she claims to have written for herself. She had also shot the mirror. We found the pellet, ”he said.
