Former MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa had filed a complaint with the Office of Narcotics Control in which he appealed to start an investigation into an alleged ‘drug party’ that Karan allegedly organized in 2019.
Karan recently released an official statement and denied reports of drug use at her house party. His statement read: “No narcotic substance was used at the party. I WOULD LIKE IN AN UNEQUIVOUS WAY ONCE AGAIN TO DECLARE THAT I DO NOT CONSUME NARCOTICS AND I DO NOT PROMOTE, I ENCOURAGE THE CONSUMPTION OF SAID SUBSTANCE “.
He also clarified on reports that suggested his employees’ involvement in the drug case. The statement read: “Anubhav Chopra is not an employee of Dharma Productions. He was briefly associated with us for just two months as second assistant director of a film in 2011-12 and as assistant director of a short film in January 2013. Mr. Kshitij Ravi Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment (Dharma’s sister company Productions) in November 2019 as one of the executive producers under contract for a project that ultimately did not materialize.
