The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main and National Eligibility Income Exam (NEET) 2021 could see a cut in the curriculum due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. For the 2021 exams, the IITs have already decided to give a second chance for students who passed JEE Main 2020 but it failed to appear for JEE Advanced 2021, the gateway to IITs.
During the meeting, several other announcements were also made. A fundamental decision was made to start technical education, especially engineering courses that provide education in the mother tongue will open from next academic year. Some IIT and NIT are being shortlisted for the same. The minister said that all ministry officials are working to ensure the proper implementation of the National Education Policy.
Pokhriyal also directed UGC to ensure that all scholarships, scholarships are disbursed on time and to start a helpline for them. He also ordered that all student complaints be repaired immediately.
