In the wake of the latest reports that Pakistan has reactivated launch pads again and pushed terrorists into India, National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval on Saturday called on security agencies to strengthen the counter-infiltration network to along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir to verify terrorist infiltration.

At a high-level security meeting, the NSA Doval reviewed the operation against the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in the context of a successful operation against the main terrorist and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander, Riyaz Naikoo, who was killed. Naikoo along with his partner was killed on May 6 in a meeting in the Beighpora village of Awantipora in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to intelligence, 25-30 Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists are currently present in the Kashmir Valley who may carry out terrorist attacks against the security forces. The JeM is conspiring to launch a ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) attack against security forces in the valley on May 11, according to sources. A meeting was recently held between JeM’s top commander Mufti Abdul Rauf Asghar and senior ISI officials in Pakistan, in which Rauf was briefed on preparations for the suicide attack.

According to a report by security agencies, around 450 terrorists, including Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), have been seen on the platforms of Launch adjacent to The Control Line (LoC). Intelligence agencies reported that the activated launch pads are located in Dudhaniyal, Sharda and Athkam, near the LoC adjacent to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

As of March, the number of terrorists on the launch pad was close to 230, which has almost doubled now, according to security agencies. There are around 350 Pakistani terrorists in this group and most of them are from LeT and JeM.

An official associated with the security agency said: “We have concrete information about the terrorists on the launch pad. The terrorists have gathered on more than 20 launch pads in various groups and the Pakistani military has been violating the ceasefire in repeatedly to gain access to India. “

NSA Doval held the meeting with top Army commanders and the heads of other security agencies during which the agencies shared their concerns about the increase in Pakistan Air Force activities on the western front that began after the first Pakistani Minister Imran Khan claimed that India could make use of the ongoing friction to embark on a ‘false flag operation’ against Pakistan for alleged infiltration reasons.

The meeting was attended by the Chief General of the Indian Army, Manoj Mukund Naravane, the Chief of Research and Analysis, Samant Goel, the Commander of the Northern Army, Lt. Gen. YK Joshi, the General Officer in Command of 15 Corps (GoC ), Lt. Gen. BS Raju and the Nagrota of the Sri Lankan Army. Commander of 16 corps based on Lt. Gen. Harsha Gupta and Jammu and Kashmir Police DGP Dilbag Singh.
