New Delhi: The number of COVID-19 coronavirus cases rose to 9,152, with 35 new deaths reported on Monday (April 13), according to the Union Ministry of Health. The number of coronavirus cases was 7,987, while up to 856 people were cured and discharged, and one had emigrated, according to data from the ministry, adding that the total number of cases includes 72 foreign citizens.
However, at the joint press conference, the joint secretary of the Ministry of Health, Lav Agarwal, said that the total number of coronavirus cases reached 9,152 on Monday, as 857 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, and added that the death toll increased to 308 with 35 new deaths
Amid new positive cases of coronavirus, 25 districts in 15 states in the country that were affected by the deadly virus have not had a single case of infection in the past 14 days, therefore the spread of infection has stopped in these districts, said Lav Agarwal.
Earlier on April 12, it was reported that a chronic infection had spread in 80 districts of the country in the past 4 days, but the good news is that, with preventive measures, the spread of the virus has been halted in at least 25 districts. , the health ministry said, adding that 400 districts in the country have been affected so far by COVID-19.
Raman R Gangakhedkar, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), said the first shipment of COVID-19 kits from China will arrive in India on April 15. “Until yesterday, we conducted 2,06,212 COVID-19 tests. Also, no need to worry, the rate at which we are testing today, we have a stock with which we can easily test for the next 6 weeks,” Gangakhedkar said.
The ICMR chief said 14 mentoring institutes have been identified to increase capacity. They will train other universities and also check if new labs need to be established, adding “No need to worry, based on current inventory and testing, we can easily test for up to six weeks.”
On behalf of the Interior Ministry at the press conference, Joint Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava said that all states have received clear instructions that a separate permit is not required for cargo movement. With a truck driver, an assistant will be allowed. The local authority has been asked to cooperate with truck personnel to get to the truck’s location from their home.
She said Indian Railway, Airport and Customs officials have been authorized to issue passes to her staff, adding that she is also taking the help of retired police and volunteers to assist states in the shutdown.
For the smooth movement of goods, the movement of trucks between states along with empty trucks has been allowed. The manufacturing unit has been approved for interstate activity, he added.
Meanwhile, 25 districts in 15 states that had previously reported COVID-19 cases but in the past 14 days have witnessed any outbreaks in the positive cases. These districts are:

15. Bhadradari Kothagudem in Telangana
