‘No MSP on Potatoes’: Congress Responds to Nadda’s Twitter Taunt of Rahul | India News

NEW DELHI: Congress responded on Sunday to BJP chief JP Nadda’s mockery of Rahul Gandhi for a long-standing speech advocating for reforms in the agricultural sector.
Party spokesman Randeep Surjewala said that before targeting Gandhi, the BJP chief should have known that there is no MSP for potatoes.
“Dear Nadda ji, before fooling farmers, you should have known that there is no MSP for potatoes. And … we also want reforms in the agricultural sector, but the question here is how farmers’ lives have been attacked with the three black laws, “he said in a tweet in Hindi.

I was responding to JP Nadda’s tweet from an old video, where Rahul, in a Lok Sabha speech, is heard speaking on behalf of potato growers who sell products directly to factories and cut out the middlemen.
“What is this magic that is happening Rahul ji? You are now opposing what you defended before. You have nothing to do with the interests of the country or the farmers,” Nadda had said in his tweet.
Farmers have been sitting in protest at various border points in Delhi for a month, demanding the repeal of the three agricultural sector reform laws passed by the Center. They also fear that the EMP in agricultural products may cease and want a guarantee that it will continue.
