Since all state governments and Union territories are preparing for the reopening of schools in a phased manner after October 15, the Ministry of Education has issued detailed guidance according to which there will be no evaluation for up to two or three weeks after the schools reopened. . In its latest directive for reopening, the Interior Ministry has asked the state government to make a decision on the reopening of schools on October 15. But it won’t be mandatory and online classes will continue, the MHA said.

The Ministry of Education has drawn up a detailed plan in which schools have been asked to establish various work teams to ensure that proper hygiene is maintained.

one. Arrange for thorough cleaning and disinfection of all areas on the school campus and ensure airflow in the interior space.

two. Schools will have to form task teams such as emergency care support, general support team, hygiene inspection team, etc. with assigned responsibilities.

3. Schools can make their own standard operating procedures.

Four. Physical distancing must be guaranteed when planning the seating plan, staggering entry and exit times.

5. Use of mask during class.

6. Sensitize students, parents, teachers, community members, and shelter staff.

7. Plan changes to the academic calendar for all classes.

8. Ensure availability of a full-time trained health care assistant / nurse / physician.

9. Flexible attendance and sick leave policies for both students and staff.

10. No evaluation until 2-3 weeks after the school reopens. “The use of ICT and online learning will continue to be promoted. The SOP also provides guidelines to ensure the emotional well-being of students and teachers with a reference to the Manodarpan initiative, ”said Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

“Students may attend schools only with the written consent of their parents. There will be flexibility in the attendance rules. Students can choose to take classes online instead of physically attending school, ”said the minister.
