No change in home quarantine rules, asymptomatic patients or people with mild symptoms to observe 17 days of quarantine: BMC

The oldest Bombay The Municipal Corporation Public Health Department issued revised detailed guidelines on home quarantine for COVID-19 infected patients.

According to the circular, patients with mild symptoms or those who are asymptomatic must observe a total of seventeen days of a home quarantine period without reduction, the administration said.

The notice further nullified reports by some media outlets that the home quarantine period for asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients in Mumbai has been changed from 14 days to 10 days. “That is inappropriate,” authorities said in the circular. In contrast, the revised instructions now require a total of 17 days of separation. A detailed explanation is being given so that misconceptions do not spread in people’s minds due to media coverage.
