TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee Sunday attacked the BJP leaders for their mockery of “bhaipo” (nephew) and challenged them to take his name.
Addressing party workers in the South 24 Parganas district, Banerjee, the nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, said: “During the Lok Sabha election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said bhatija ka batti gul hone wala hain (the nephew is going to lose the elections). Now all the BJP leaders have only one thing to say: bhaipo (nephew). They don’t have the guts to take my name. Whenever someone attacked me, I took legal action. “
“As a result, they are now resorting to the ‘bhaipo’ comment … If they have guts then they must attack me by taking my name,” Banerjee said.
