The JD (U) has won the Hilsa assembly seat in Bihar by just 12 votes, according to the Election Commission website, a result contested by rival RJD.

According to the results updated on the Election Commission website Tuesday night, Krishnamurari Sharan or Prem Mukhiya of JD (U) have obtained 61,848 votes, while Atri Muni or Shakti Singh Yadav of RJD have obtained 61,836 votes.

“Declared results,” the survey body wrote in the “status” column of Hilsa’s seat Tuesday night. And in the margin column he wrote “12.”

Earlier, around 10 pm, when the Election Commission’s website showed that the votes for Hilsa were still being counted, the RJD alleged unfair practices in the process.
