Janata Dal (United) boss Nitish Kumar has a slim majority in Bihar “administered” by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) senior leader Manoj Jha said on Saturday, adding that his government It will not last long.
He accused Nitish Kumar of suppressing the mandate of the people with a decree by switching from ‘Mahagathbandhan’ to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2017 and said that the people of Bihar have now awakened.
“Even the NDA and the BJP must admit that if it had not been a mandate for change, Nitish Ji would not have won about 40 seats in the State Legislative Assembly. You (Nitish Kumar) are in a small majority, that too, a managed one. A majority-administered government doesn’t last long, ”Jha told ANI here.

He said that the RJD has already approached the Election Commission of India on the low voting margins and warned Nitish Kumar that people will take to the streets demanding accountability in the coming days.
Nitish Kumar presented his resignation to the state governor, Phagu Chauhan, on Friday.
“You (Nitish Kumar) abolished the mandate of the people with a decree, but now the people of Bihar have awakened. They have seen the difference between a mandate and a decree. Now, the people of Bihar will not forgive you. People will now go to the roads to ensure accountability, ”Jha said.
Commenting on Nitish Kumar’s comment on LJP, Jha said he has no choice. Nitish has no choice. A person with 40 seats is looking to become the next Chief Minister. The BJP has control and the script now, ”he added.
Previously, Nitish Kumar had left it up to the BJP to decide whether the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) led by Chirag Paswan, which faced the JDU in Legislative Assembly polls, will remain in the NDA or not.
Jha said Chirag Paswan had raised good questions about the attitude of then-Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Modi as workers and daily wagers returned to their villages amid the COVID-19 shutdown.
This comes as the NDA constituents, who won the majority in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections, are scheduled to meet on Sunday to select their new leader. The BJP had won 74 seats, JD-U 43, while two other constituents of the NDA won eight seats.
