“These young people transmit the coronavirus infection to their parents and grandparents, as well as to children and other family members. Compared to the average of 150 cases recorded every day in the city through the third week of September, about 170 cases have been reported every day since the last week.

Furthermore, the AMC said that although it launched a special campaign to discourage young people from behaving in this way, the violations continue unabated.

The number of COVID-19 patients in the Ahmedabad district rose to 36,245 on Sunday with an addition of 197 cases in a single day. With three deaths, all in the city, the death toll in the district rose to 1,819, he said. Of the 197 new cases, 178 were from the city of Ahmedabad and 19 from rural areas.
