Maharashtra has been the state most affected by the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic, with Mumbai being the most affected city in the country and the situation has only improved in recent months.

“Covid is not dying from overcrowding. In fact, it will grow. The vaccine has not yet come out and we do not know when it will come out. Even if it leaves in December, when will it arrive in Maharashtra? Maharashtra has 12 million inhabitants. And it must be administered twice. Therefore, we will need a vaccine for 25 million people. So please take care of yourself. It will take time, ”said CM Thackeray.

“If we don’t have enough beds, our health workers get infected, then no one can save us. This is not the case at this time, but we must be very careful. We have not yet been able to open schools. We are at a peak. I don’t want to go back to any confinement, ”he said.

“So once again, I want to tell you, don’t crowd, wear a mask, wash your hands, and keep your distance. This will only keep us safe. Now I have opened all the places of worship. But please do not crowd these places ”, added the CM.

Uddhav Thackeray’s speech came hours after his deputy Ajit Pawar hinted at another possible blockade in the state.

The government has already postponed the reopening of schools in several districts, including Pune and Aurangabad, due to the sudden increase in COVID-19 cases.

Maharashtra reported a total of 5,753 positive coronavirus cases today, bringing the state’s overall infection count to 1780,208. The deaths of 50 patients brought the death count to 46,623, the health department said. There are currently 81,512 active cases in the state.
