HIGHLIGHT
- A streaker invaded the Bay Oval during the New Zealand vs Pakistan test on Saturday
- The streaker was approached by a security guard before being taken off the field.
- Kane Williamson was undefeated at 94 when Stump was called up at Mount Maunganui
The Boxing Day test between New Zealand and Pakistan saw some great bat-ball battles on Day 1, but there is also a lot of talk about the incident of a streaker invading the ground. Play was briefly halted at Bay Oval on Mount Maunganui, when a streaker came running onto the field with his hands on his private end.
A security guard tried to stop the person but continued to obstruct the game. Finally, he was accosted by one of the security guards before being escorted off the field. While some fans blame the streaker for wasting time and restricting Kane Williamson from reaching his 23rd on Day 1 of the test match, others have raised questions about the “fitness” of the security guards.
Notably, Kane Williamson was undefeated in ’94 when stumps were called up on Day 1. Here’s video of the incident.

Bad form of a streak to go away when the home team is hitting. Meet the man of the game. #NZvsPAK

Initial defense was poor from safety, showed no aptitude or form, and the streaker was able to penetrate relatively easily.
