Another sensational ton from the bat of New Zealand captain Kane Williamson (129) and the fifties of Ross Taylor (70), Henry Nicholls (56), BJ Watling (73) helped the hosts to a daunting 431 total against Pakistan in the first test to be played at the Bay Oval.
While the Kiwis were excellent in their first innings with the bat, the fans in attendance witnessed sloppy cricket by visiting team Pakistan.
A New Zealand fan took note of all the “mistakes” made by the Pakistan team against their team on the field.
The fan did it using a whiteboard and a marker and made sections of all those “mistakes” made by Pakistan: catches, falls, field failures, bad shots, misuse of DRS.
Soon, snapshots of the fan’s quirky way of trolling Pakistan with his finger pointing at the board went viral on the microblogging site Twitter and fans of the visiting team had a lot of laughter about it as well.
“Having a smart audience makes the game more interesting. It keeps the players in shape for fear of being watched,” joked one Twitter user.
“I really admire the kiwi crowd, they are super cool and incredible with aggression.”
“I’m not sure. If they want to be brutal with Pak bowling or New Zealand hitting.”
“I would have no blackboard space if it were for Australia today.”
The Test, which was on its third day, was delayed due to rain.
It also rained terrains at the Bay Oval with Pakistan losing six terrains for a score of 112.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan and Faheem Ashraf remained undefeated for 29 and 21 respectively before rain stopped the game.
