The Delhi government announced restrictions on the gathering of more than five people in the city’s public spaces from Thursday at 11 p.m. (December 31) to Friday at 6 a.m. (January 1), and from Friday to 11 pm (January 1) to Saturday at 6 am (January 2).
But the government has clarified that public spaces do not include licensed places like hotels, bars, restaurants; will be open. The government also said there are no restrictions on private venues. This is everything you need to know about curbs:

1. In licensed venues, it will be mandatory to follow social distancing rules and the use of masks. The owners and managers of those venues will need to scan the body temperature of visitors at the entry points. Police and government teams will conduct surprise inspections.
2. There will be no traffic restrictions within Delhi or at the borders. However, the police will stop vehicles at random checkpoints to control drunk driving.
3. In places like Connaught Place (CP), vehicle movement will be stopped and only those with restaurant reservations will be allowed to continue. The police will place barricades at the entry points to CP. This practice has also been followed previously.
4. There are no restrictions in any private place, but the government has advised people not to have large gatherings.
5. The movement of goods vehicles within and to the city from other states will not be restricted.
6. There may be a restriction on meetings on the Indian Gate lawn on January 1st. But the government has yet to make an announcement.
In recent years, the India Gate lawn has reported gatherings of tens of thousands on the first day of the year.
