New flight rules that you should know before you enter the airport starting 25 May

A day after Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, has announced that flight operations will begin from 25 May, the airports Authority of India (AAI) today released a standard operating procedure (SOP) for airports for the resumption of domestic flights.

Passengers must walk through a thermal detection of the area before you enter the airport terminal building and all have to have the Aarogya respective eras app on their mobile phones. The app ‘will not be compulsory for children under 14 years of age.

“Airport operators should make suitable arrangement for the disinfection of the baggage of passengers before the entry into the terminal building,” the AAI said in a statement.

Some of the Standard operating procedures that must be followed by airport operators for the resumption of domestic flights:

  • Passengers must arrive at the airport well in advance. They will have to arrive at the airport two hours before flight time.
  • Passengers should wear masks and gloves.
  • Those who do not show ‘green’ in Aarogya respective eras will not be allowed to enter the airport.
  • Aarogya respective eras application is not compulsory for children below the age of 14 years.
  • The disinfection of baggage before entering the terminal
  • At the points of contact of the passengers, the staff for the use of the protectors of the face, behind the counter or put a glass wall at the counter
  • Constant announcements about the social distancing and other standards.
  • The shipment is carried out in batch, in order to maintain the social distance.
  • Seat passengers must be done in such a way that to maintain the social distance between the passengers that use wheelchairs on the lock of the seats that are not to be used, with the proper markers/tape.
  • All the airport staff to wear Ppe and hand sanitisers for staff and passengers.
  • Newspapers and magazines will not be provided in the building of the Terminal/Lounges.
  • Passengers will be allowed in the building of the terminal if your flights within four hours.
  • The state governments and the administrations have to ensure that public transport and private taxis for the passengers and the airline crew.
  • The cars will not be allowed in the arrival or departure of the sections, except for special cases.

Countries around the world are easing the restrictions that were imposed to contain the spread of the infection by the coronavirus. India is preparing to open its airspace to domestic.

The national airline of operations will resume from the airports of the main cities of the country since the 25 of May, the minister of Civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri had reported yesterday.

All airports and airlines have been informed to be ready to resume operations, the minister said on Twitter adding that the Standard operating procedures for the movements of the passengers are being separately issued by the ministry of civil aviation.

India suspended all flights from the 25 of March, when the government first imposed a nationwide security lockdown to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. The bull run has been extended three times. The current block ends on the 31st of May.
