New Delhi: Lead attorney Harish Salve, who recently divorced his first wife, announced the second marriage to a London-based artist next week. The 65-year-old lawyer divorced his wife of 38 years, Meenakshi Salve, in June this year.

Salve was the former Attorney General of India before becoming Queen’s Counsel (QC) in England and Wales in January, a title that is recognized around the world. He has been the busiest attorney amid the coronavirus pandemic, appearing in several high-profile cases in the Supreme Court.

He represented the vice president of Facebook in a case against the Legislative Assembly of Delhi and the Association of Banks of India in a matter related to the moratorium on loans and had expressed that he feels very comfortable arguing on matters, via video conference, from London .

Church wedding for Harish Salve

According to the news agency IANSSalve will marry Caroline Brossard, the London-based artist, in a church on October 28. Salve, who has adjusted to being a Londoner, lives in North London and met Brossard at an art event. They have been seeing each other for almost a year.

Brossard, who grew up in the UK, has an 18-year-old daughter. In elaborating on the factors that solidified the couple’s connection, Salve said they share a passion for theater and classical music, along with art.

Salve had previously said that the wedding will be a very small affair, as only 15 people are allowed to gather in London due to COVID-19 restrictions. In addition to the Brossard family, Salve’s guests are known to include Camellia and Namita Panjabi, the UK’s renowned Indian restaurateurs.

He has been associated with many high profile cases such as Kulbhushan Jadav, Vodafone, Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, ITC hotels, etc., and he is also one of the prominent lawyers who is active before various courts in India via video conference.
