NEET 2020 result: Prior to the statement of the National Cum Entry Eligibility Test (NEET) results, a Kota training student who wrote the exam recently claimed that he got the highest score, 720 out of 720, after counting his score with the key of responses.
The NEET results, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on September 13 for admissions to undergraduate medical and dental courses, will be released on October 16.
“I have matched my score with the answer key and the NEET OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet published by NTA. I am getting a 100% score so I can get 1st place. But it is also possible that some other student got the highest score, ”said Soyeb Aftab (18) from Rourkela in Odisha.
“In case many achieve the same grades, the All India (AIR) 1 ranking will be decided according to the age of the applicants. Whoever is older will be awarded the best, ”said Aftab, who took training at Allen Career Institute, Kota.
Institute Director Naveen Maheshwari said: “Soyeb Aftab has been attending our classroom training for the past two and a half years. His count of OMR scores and the answer key has given us confidence that he could achieve the top spot in NEET results. ”
OMR is the process of identifying and recording data from specially printed paper forms used in testing. The data is read from a sheet with the help of an OMR reader.
“I am going to make my dream of becoming a doctor come true. I came to Kota in 2018 to be admitted to the Allen Career Institute. I stayed in a PG accommodation with my younger sister and my mother, ”said Aftab, who scored 95.8% in Class 12 and 96.8% in Class 10.
He said the coronavirus-induced lockdown helped him review his curriculum thoroughly. He hasn’t gone home after arriving in Kota to concentrate on his preparations.
