NCB tapes a subpoena on the door post of Deepika Padukone’s manager, Karishma Prakash, seizing hashish


Actor Deepika Padukone’s manager Karishma Prakash has been subpoenaed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a drug case related to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, sources said.

NCB Zone Director Sameer Wankhede said Karishma Prakash was subpoenaed Thursday while the investigation was ongoing. The official said she is currently untraceable and a notice has been posted on the door of her home in Mumbai.

On Tuesday, the NCB raided the residence of Karishma Prakash and seized almost 1.8 g of hashish from there. Deepika’s manager had been questioned last month by the anti-drug agency, which has been investigating the sale and use of banned substances in Bollywood.

Deepika and Karishma drug talks

In early September, Republic Media Network had reported on the drug talks between Deepika Padukone and her manager Karishma Prakash. In the chats, Deepika was seen asking her manager for ‘maal’ and ‘hashish’, to which the latter replied that he has it at home. The NCB had even taken on the Bollywood actor with the chat.

The chats that had emerged were part of a group called ‘DP + Ka + KWAN’, where Deepika Padukone was the administrator.
The group was formed by Jaya Saha and its administrators were Deepika Padukone and Karishma Prakash.

The Bollywood drug nexus came to light after NCB found evidence against actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty for allegedly acquiring drugs. First, her brother Showik and Sushant’s staff were arrested, after which she too was put behind bars. After a month’s stay in Byculla Prison, he was released on bail on 7 October. Showik is still in jail. Another person who is still in detention is Kshitij Prasad, executive producer and director.
