Maharashtra BJP leader Pravin Darekar said on Wednesday that actress Kangana Ranaut is not above the law and NCB should conduct an investigation if she said she was a “drug addict.”
“If Kangana has said she was addicted to drugs, then the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) should investigate. The law is the same for everyone in our country,” the opposition leader in the state Legislative Council told reporters. .
The NCB is investigating the alleged link between Bollywood and drugs and arrested actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was booked by Bihar police for allegedly instigating the suicide of her actor boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. The CBI is investigating that case.
In Mumbai, the NCB has summoned actors Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh, among others, for questioning.

The Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government earlier this month ordered an investigation by Mumbai police into allegations by actor Shekhar Suman’s son, Adhyayan Suman, that Ranaut used drugs.
Darekar said no one will support whether new and budding actors in the film industry are victims of drugs.
“Shouldn’t we take precautions if actors in one of the world’s largest film industries become addicted (to drugs)?” she questioned.
Darekar said there should be no problem if NCB summons anyone who is using drugs for investigation.
The BJP leader also criticized the Mumbai civic body led by Shiv Sena on Wednesday for waterlogging due to heavy rains.
“They had seven to eight months time to fix the chronic flooding points. There is no shortage of funds; the necessary machinery is also available … But despite all these things, if Mumbai is sinking, what have you done? been in power at the BMC for the last 40 years? “he asked.
