Now, we have learned that the NCB has not given Arjun Rampal a clean note. Zone Director Sameer Wankhede said: “The investigation is ongoing in the case of Arjun Rampal and we have not given him a clean note.”
When asked if the prescription for the scheduled drug was falsified, Wankhede said: “We have found a discrepancy in the statements they gave us and therefore by examining them. And if the need arises we will call you again.”
Arjun Rampal was subpoenaed for the second time in a month by the central drug agency. Rampal, 47, was summoned last week, but had written to the OCN asking for time until December 22, citing some “personal” commitments.
Previously, NCB had raided Arjun’s residence and confiscated electronic devices in addition to some (medical) tablets. The actor had subsequently told the media that he provided a prescription for a particular pain reliever that the NCB took on prescription.
Apart from Arjun, the NCB has questioned his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades and his brother Agisialos Demetriades, who was arrested and later obtained bail. Furthermore, another of Rampal’s friends, Australian Paul Bartel, was arrested last month.
