Mumbai: A fire broke out in a building in Mumbai where the office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is located. The fire was reported to have broken out at the Foreign Post Office in the Exchange building located on the Ballard Estate in South Mumbai.

Firefighters immediately rushed to the scene to put out the fire. The building was also evacuated as a precautionary measure.

A fire official later said that no one was injured in the incident.

According to the official, the fire started around 1:15 p.m. on the second floor of Exchange Building Number Two located in Walchand Hirachand Marg.

“It was a ‘zero’ (minor) level fire. Water tankers and fire trucks rushed to the scene and the fire was put out,” the official said.

He reported that some office furniture and office supplies were destroyed in the fire. The fire was caused by a short circuit, he added.

Previously, flames could be seen rising from the second floor of the building. The OCN office is located on the third floor, Mohit Bhatt of Times Now reported.

It should be remembered that the NCB has been in the news lately as it investigates the drugs angle in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
