Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal was questioned Monday by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for about six hours. The interrogation was related to a raid on his residence last month, where the agency had found tablets prohibited by the NDPS Act.

During investigations, the drug agency is said to have discovered that the actor had illegally arranged a retroactive prescription for the tablets through a relative.

He was interrogated for almost 7 hours on November 13 after the NCB raided his home and took almost a dozen electronic devices in addition to some (medical) tablets. Later, he had told the media that he had provided a prescription for a particular pain reliever that the NCB took on prescription. The prescription was reportedly issued by a Delhi psychiatrist named Dr. Rohit Garg.

“The matter is sub-judice. I cannot reveal anything. But I have shared all the necessary details with the OCN and have recorded my statement before the magistrate. It is my moral responsibility to cooperate with the agency,” Garg told reporters in Delhi.

Garg, in his statement, has told the NCB that he was unaware of the investigation. A relative of Arjun Ramapl approached him through a mutual friend. The relative said she has anxiety and requested a retroactive prescription.

“During the investigation, we have found a violation of the NDPS Act in your previous return and the statute of limitations that you have filed. With regard to the statute of limitations, it is established that he has committed a crime that can be investigated under article 29 (punishment for complicity and criminal conspiracy) of the NDPS Act, “Mid-Day said, citing a senior NCB official .
