HYDERABAD: Former Minister of the Interior of Telangana and TRS Senior Leader Nayini Narsimha Reddy passed away in a private corporate hospital in the early hours of Thursday. He was 76 years old. Nayani Narasimha Reddy, who had tested positive for Covid 19 last month, admitted to a private hospital for health complications after recovering from the infection, died while undergoing treatment.
Narasimha Reddy started her career as a union leader and was active in HMT, RTC and several other unions. He served as an MLA in the Musheerabad assembly constituency three times (once as an MLA of the Janata party) and was a member of the Legislative Council (MLC) under the governor’s fee until recently.

He served as YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s cabinet minister (2004-2006) in the United PA and as Interior Minister from 2014 to 2018 in Telangana state. He was the prime minister of the Interior of Telangana. He took over portfolios that included prisons, fire services, sainik welfare, labor and employment.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has expressed shock at his passing. The CM recalled its association with Narasimha Reddy during the separate state movement of Telangana and in the state government. The CM has conveyed its condolences to the grieving family members. He also instructed the chief secretary, Somesh Kumar, to organize the last rites for the deceased leader with official honors.
