Thai cricketer Nattakan Chantham made a miraculous dive after chasing the ball to the limit to save a certain four for his Trailblazers team. Chanthan kept running after the ball passed by Jemimah Rodrigues and finally dove to cross the boundary.
Riding Smriti Mandana’s 68 of 49 balls, the Trailblazers lifted the Women’s T20 Challenge by defeating Supernovas by 16 runs. Batting first, the team led by Mandhana put a score of 118/8 on the board with the pattern leading from the front. Radha Yadav was the bowlers’ choice for Supernovas, choosing 5 terrains for just 16 runs. In response, Harmanpreet Kaur did his best with his 30s, but his team was only able to score 102 runs in 20 overs, courtesy of some brilliant bowling from Salma Khatun, choosing 3 wickets for 18 runs.
Looking at the scores, it is quite evident that the quality of the Mandhana team’s cricket was really high, leaving behind Supernovas in all three departments, the most incredible of which was their fielding, especially Nattakan Chantham’s effort to bridge the limits at beginning of the chase.
During the powerplay overs, Jemimah Rodrigues passed the ball through the third limit that looked like a certain four, but Chantham, standing next to the third short man, kept chasing the ball to the wire and finally made a miraculous dive that took it over the limit, but she threw the ball into the field before passing. In the end, Chantham saved 2 major races with his incredible effort.
