Narendra Modi: Opposition Uses Rumors to Mislead Farmers, Says Prime Minister Modi | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra modi on Monday he said farmers are getting it wrong about the agricultural laws in the name of unsubstantiated and futuristic threats to their interests.
“New agricultural laws have been introduced for the effective implementation of promises made to farmers. Policies are being written not to mislead farmers, but with an intention as pure as Gangajal,” the prime minister said in Varanasi.
Claiming that the new agricultural laws empower farmers and give them more options, the Prime Minister accused opposition parties of spreading a disinformation campaign.
“Those who played a trick on the interests of farmers have launched a concerted disinformation campaign,” PM Modi he said in Varanasi.
“There is a new trend now, the previous decisions of the government were opposed, now the rumors have become the basis of the opposition. The propaganda is spread that, although the decision is correct, it may have other consequences, on things that are not have happened or will never happen. The same is with the agricultural laws, “he said.
The prime minister said the loan exemption was a gimmick, as profitability was denied to farmers and profitability was assured to intermediaries.
“New agricultural laws have been introduced for the benefit of farmers. We will see and experience the benefits of these new laws in the coming days,” he said.
“The first smaller farmers could not reach the mandi. New farm bills not only will it give them more options, but it will also ensure the legal protection of their rights, ”he said.
Strongly denying the rumors about the mandi being closed, the prime minister said that millions of rupees are being spent on modernizing the mandis and there is no question of closing them.
Why would the government invest so much in mandis if they were closed? I ask.
“If a part of the farmers is skeptical it is because they have always been deceived before,” he added.
