Mumbai Reports 1,179 New Cases; Maharashtra’s recovery rate rose to 72.37 percent


Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 11,852 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the state COVID-19 counts to 7,92,541. Additionally, 184 people succumbed to the infection, bringing the death toll from COVID-19 in the state to 24,583 and the number of active cases to 1.94,056 according to the latest information shared by the state health department.

Mumbai reports 1,179 new cases


Mumbai reported 1,179 new coronavirus cases on Monday and with that, the Maximum City case count jumped to 1.45,805. Additionally, 32 patients succumbed to the virus, bringing the death toll to 7,655. In contrast, up to 1,17,268 patients have recovered to date and the number of active cases in the city is now 20,554.



Dharavi sees a slight jump in new cases


Dharavi of Mumbai saw an increase in new COVID-19 cases on Monday. The number of new cases on the old access point, which generally stayed in single digits, is 15. With this, the total count has risen to 2,775. While Dharavi is home to 94 active cases, the region has so far reported 2,416 downloads. The model implemented in the slum conglomerate contained the single digit outbreak, with occasional fluctuations, to date.

Dadar reports 19 new cases


Dadar saw a drop in new cases since Sunday. The area reported 19 new cases, bringing the count to 2,562. While Dadar is home to 355 active cases, it also recorded 2,109 total recoveries. Mahim registered 21 new cases on Monday. With this, the total count for the region rose to 2,253 cases. To date, 1,879 discharges have been reported, while 289 cases are currently active.

Maharashtra Issues New ‘Unlock 4.0’ Guidelines

Free treatment for Covid-19 and other ailments under MJPJY in Maharashtra from now until October 31


The state extended the time period for citizens to take advantage of free treatment for a number of ailments, including COVID-19 under Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJY) until October 31. All Maharashtra residents are eligible for this benefit, regardless of their financial status. On May 23, the state had initially allowed citizens to benefit from free treatments until July 31. Health activists had urged the state to extend the plan, as many suffered financial setbacks due to the pandemic. The losses, activists said, required the need for free treatment for all manner of ailments, including COVID-19, for at least a year. read more

Maharashtra Police: 341 Cops Test Positive for COVID-19 in Last 24 Hours


Up to 341 more police officers from Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID-19, while two have died in the past 24 hours. According to the Maharashtra Police, the total number of positive cases in the police force has risen to 15,294, including 2,832 active cases, 12,306 recoveries and 156 deaths to date. With 1,93,889 active cases, Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country.
