Maharashtra Coronavirus News Live Updates: Maharashtra reported a one-day surge of 9,060 positive coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the state’s COVID 19 count to 15.95,381. The death of 150 patients due to the pandemic brought the death toll to 42,115, it said in a statement. Up to 11,204 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the state’s recovery count rose to 13,69,810. There are currently 1,82,973 active cases in the state. So far 81,39,466 people have been tested.
Mumbai metro services, which will restart this week, will have only a third of passenger traffic and the number of trains will be reduced to half from pre-covid levels. The cut in services, passengers and operating hours are implemented to ensure passenger safety and other Covid prevention measures. Only 200 services will run compared to 400 services above. To handle the heavy passenger traffic in the upcoming holiday season, Western Railway has announced that it will use 12 special trains that will operate on various routes during the Dussehra and Diwali seasons.
