Mumbai Blackout LIVE Updates: A major power outage was reported in Mumbai on Monday and residents took to Twitter to report blackouts in the southern, central and northern regions. Multiple trips of lines and transformers (Kalwa-Padghe and Khargar ICTs) supplying power to the Mumbai system with a supply of 360 MW have been reported in Mumbai and the affected suburbs. An official said the restoration is in process.
Local Western Railway trains, between Churchgate and Vasai Train Station, have stopped due to a network failure. However, both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) said there is no disruption in trading despite a power outage. Aam Aadmi Party national executive member Preeti Menon was among the locals who took to Twitter early in the morning to ask if “all of Mumbai is facing a power outage.”

Restoration process in progress | The 400 KV line has tripped. The entire MIDC, Palghar and Dahanu lines have been affected. It will take at least an hour to restore power according to the EHV team. There are multiple line trips and transformers (Kalwa-padghe and Khargar ICTs) supplying power to the Mumbai system. 360 MW supply in Mumbai and affected suburbs. Restoration work is underway.
