Mumbai: A Mumbai police officer is being hailed as a hero or is saving the life of an old man who got stuck on a train track. The incident was reported from the Dahisar train station in Mumbai on Friday. A video of the rescue has gone viral on social media.
CCTV footage from the train station shows a 60-year-old man, identified as Ganpat Solankhi, jumping over a barricade to reach the other side of the platform. As he crosses the train tracks, his shoe is removed. He picks up the shoe, moves to the other side of the track to put it on while a policeman standing on the platform alerts him to an oncoming train.
The man does not pay much attention to the policeman and walks on the tracks thinking that he can reach the platform in time. The policeman, seeing the passenger in danger, acts at the last moment and puts him on the platform.

In October, an alert Rail Protection Force (RPF) agent had saved the life of a female passenger who fell while trying to board a train at the Ghatkopar train station in Mumbai. The woman who was rushing to board the train hit a bar and fell. An alert RPF agent rushed to help her as she was about to slip into the cavity between the platform and the moving train.
