Seventeen-year-old Swayam Chube has barely allowed himself a breath to celebrate his achievement in JEE (Main), the results of which were declared Friday night. With 296 points, Chube is the only Maharashtra applicant to score a 100 percentile: 24 candidates across the country have scored perfect on the JEE (Main) exam in January and April / September 2020.

Chube, a student at Mumbai ‘s Balmohan Vidyamandir, hasn’t even received the congratulatory calls that have come in, choosing to stay focused for the JEE (Advanced), scheduled for September 27. “We will celebrate together after September 27, as there are only two weeks left for the crucial exam,” his father Shashank, a doctor, told The Sunday Express.

The family had moved from Dadar to Marol about two years ago, to reduce Chube’s travel time to his classes. “He stuck to the NCERT books. In class X, she also participated in the Indian Mathematics Olympiad. The training at the camp helped him a lot, ”added Shashank.

With a 99.97 percentile, Indrayani Tayade (17), a Nagpur resident, ranked first among girls in the state. Yashoda Junior College student Tayade also appeared on the exam in January to earn a 99.87 percentile and the distinction of Vidarbha’s best woman.

“When the results were announced, we were overjoyed and Indrayani rejoiced at his performance. Now he is studying hard for the JEE (Advanced), ”said his mother Vaishali. Tayade scored 98 percent in Class X and has since appeared in various competitive exams.
