MSP, Public Procurement is an Important Part of the Country’s Food Security – Modi: The Tribune India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the government is committed to acquiring agricultural crops at a minimum support price (MSP), calling it an important part of the country’s food security.

Additionally, he said that efforts are being made to improve Mandi’s infrastructure so that the MSP purchase continues in a scientific manner.

“MSP and government procurement are an important part of the country’s food security. It is important that it continues to operate with better facilities and in a scientific manner. We are committed to this,” Modi said after launching a commemorative 75 rupee coin. on the 75th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

He said that the government in the last six years has been investing in boosting infrastructure facilities in the Agricultural Products Marketing Committees (APMC).

The APMC (mandis) have their own identity and strength and have been in the country for years, he added. PTI
