MP lockdown news: Bhopal and Indore night curfew, no lockdown, as MP prepares for second wave | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the nightly closure of five districts – Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ratlam and Vidisha – on Friday, even as the state battles a wave of Covid and fears of a second wave. The restrictions will continue until Corona cases decline, he said.

There will be no lock, and the commercial and industrial activities will continue, assured the CM. However, some restrictions should be imposed at hotspots, especially in districts where the Covid positivity rate is above 5%.
As of November 21, no one will be allowed to leave their homes between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in these five districts, Interior Minister Narottam Mishra tweeted after a coronavirus review meeting. “During night curfew, there will be no restrictions on the movement of freight carriers and industrial workers, ”said Mishra.
Those engaged in essential services and factory workers are exempt, CM Chouhan said. “Containment areas can be created in locations that are critical points in Corona, but the transport of essential goods will not stop. While economic activities are maintained, efforts should be made to exercise greater caution among people so that the virus does not spread, ”Chouhan said.
Schools and universities will be closed until December 31
The restrictions came on a day when MP re-registered more than 1,500 new Covid cases, the first time in 40 days, and the number of active patients exceeded 10.00. The recovery rate fell below 93% for the first time in a month. CM Chouhan has already warned residents to prepare for a second wave.
Schools and universities will be closed until Dec. 31, and only students in classes 9-12 will be able to go to class for orientation, Chouhan said. As TOI reported on Friday, the Madhya pradesh The government appears to have taken note of the increase in Covid cases among students at schools in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh after the schools reopened.
Theaters will continue to operate at 50% capacity, as previously announced, Chouhan said. Crisis management groups in the districts will answer the call about how many people should be able to attend weddings or social and religious gatherings.
The CM ordered daily meetings of the crisis management groups in the districts where the Corona count is increasing. In districts where the positivity rate is above 5%, pickers can answer the call during the night curfew. Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa are also seeing an increase in cases.
Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior are the three worst-hit districts in MP, with the state capital topping the daily tally for most of November. Almost 850 new cases have been reported in Bhopal in the last three days. What appears to have triggered an emergency review meeting on Friday is 381 cases detected in Bhopal and in just 24 hours.
Indore has the highest Covid count (36,623) and deaths
(726) in Madhya Pradesh. Ratlam and Vidisha are experiencing an outbreak.
The administration will intensify its campaign on the mandatory wearing of masks in public. The CM urged everyone to follow Covid precautions. “Savdhani mein hi surkasha hai (precaution is the best protection),” he said.
“Every effort has been made in the last eight months to curb the threat of the Coronavirus and people have also shown awareness. We cannot lower our guard, ”he said, urging people to be conscientious through the use of loudspeakers.
“Covid-19 has not gone away. The challenge can get tougher with the changing weather. Therefore, obey the Covid guidelines for your safety, and for the state and the country, ”he urged.
