Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) head Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday for his comments on China during the organization’s Vijayadashami celebrations. Gandhi, who has been relentless in this attack on the government due to the border confrontation with the neighboring country, made special reference to the RSS chief’s statements about the Chinese invasion of Ladakh.
“Deep down, Mr. Bhagwat knows the truth. He’s just afraid to face it. The truth is that China has taken over our land and the government and the RSS have allowed it, ”Gandhi tweeted after Bhagwat’s speech at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur.
Bhagwat said in his speech at an indoor event, attended by 50 swayamsevaks due to Covid-19 guidelines, that India needs to be better than China in terms of military readiness, adding that the world is aware of the expansionist designs of That country. The RSS chief cited Taiwan and Vietnam as examples of Chinese expansionist designs and said that many countries are now facing China.

“Our defense forces, the government and the people responded vigorously to China’s efforts to invade our territories,” Bhagwat said, saying that China was shocked by India’s response to its intrusion. “We don’t know how he will react. So the way to go is to be alert and prepared. We should be more powerful than China in terms of military readiness, economic conditions, international relations and also relations with neighboring countries, ”he said.
“China invaded our borders in the middle of the pandemic,” he said. “We intend to be friendly with everyone. This is our nature. But confusing our benevolence with weakness and attempts to disintegrate or weaken us by sheer brute force is unacceptable. Our detractors should know this by now, “he added.

The government should forge an alliance against China with immediate neighbors like Nepal, Sri Lanka and others, he said. “India needs to grow more in power and reach than China,” he added.
The border dispute with China has lasted for months and escalated after 20 Indian army soldiers died in the Galwan Valley after a clash with People’s Liberation Army troops in June. Before that, tension was already boiling over in Ladakh’s Pangong Lake and in several other areas. India and China have held several rounds of talks at the military and diplomatic level, but so far they have not been conclusive.
The Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government, saying they must speak honestly about the real situation on the Royal Line of Control.
