New Delhi: Around six million EPF subscribers who have been eagerly awaiting final assent from the Ministry of Finance to credit an 8.5 percent interest rate for 2019-20 to their employees’ provident fund (EPF) accounts , have a great new year gift.
Zee Media has learned from sources that the EPFO has credited an interest rate of 8.5 percent for 2019-20 on employees’ provident fund (EPF) accounts today.
However, we would still be waiting for the official confirmation of the above.
Meanwhile, retirement fund agency EPFO had previously tweeted that subscribers can check their PF balance from the comfort of their home using four different ways: check PF balance using SMS, online, missed calls, and the UMANG application.

Enter your UAN number, password and captcha code
Click on the e-Passbook
Once you submit all the details, you will land on a new page
Now open the member id
You can now see the total EPF balance in your account

Open the UMANG app
Click on EPFO.
Click on Employee Centric Services
Click on the View notebook option
Enter your UAN number and password
You will get OTP on your registered mobile number
Now you can check your EPF balance
How to check your EPF balance via SMS
In addition to the mobile number, members registered in the UAN portal can obtain their FP data by sending an SMS from their registered mobile numbers. To do this, you must send a text message with ‘EPFOHO UAN’ to 7738299899.
How to check EPF balance through missed call
EPFO subscribers, registered on the UAN portal, can obtain their available FP details with the Employees Provident Fund Organization by giving a missed call to 011-22901406 from their UAN registered mobile phone number.
