Union Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today approved the productivity-linked bonus and the non-productivity-linked bonus for 2019-2020. More than 30 lakh unpublished central government employees and employees of central government business establishments will benefit from the bonus announcement and the total financial implication will be 3,737 crore, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said today.
Javadekar also said that the bonus will be delivered in a single installment, via Direct Benefit Transfer, before Vijayadashami (Dussehra).
According to the official Cabinet statement, the central government has given its approval to pay the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the year 2019-2020 to 16.97 lakh unregistered employees of central government business establishments such as railways, post, defense, EPFO, ESIC. , etc. The financial implication of this would be Rs 2,791 crore.
Non-PLB or ad-hoc bonus has been approved for benefit to unlisted central government employees. Up to 13.70 lakh employees would benefit and Rs.946 crore would be the financial implication of it.
