New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that India will launch the world’s largest Covid vaccination campaign with the help of mobile technology. He also said that the country was becoming the preferred destination for manufacturing mobile devices and that everyone had to work together to ensure the timely deployment of 5G to take a leap into the future.
“We need to work together to ensure a timely deployment of 5G to leap into the future and empower millions of Indians,” Prime Minister Modi said, addressing the Mobile Congress of India via video conference. All towns in India will have high-speed fiber optic data network connectivity in three years, he added.
“India is becoming the preferred destination for mobile device manufacturing. We have also developed a production-linked incentive scheme to promote telecommunications equipment manufacturing in India. Let us work together to make India a global hub for telecommunications equipment, design and development and manufacturing. “
Mobile technology will assist the country in launching one of the largest COVID-19 vaccination campaigns in the world, the Prime Minister said.
Three leading coronavirus vaccine developers, Pfizer Inc and AstraZeneca and Bharat Biotech, have applied for an emergency use authorization in India, which has the second highest number of coronavirus cases in the world.
Prime Minister Modi said the government was able to bring billions of dollars worth of benefits to millions of Indians in the pandemic due to mobile technology.
“Thanks to mobile technology, we were able to help the poor and vulnerable quickly during the pandemic. Thanks to mobile technology, we are seeing billions of cashless transactions driving formalization and transparency. It is thanks to mobile technology that we will enable a seamless contactless interface in toll booths, “he said.
“It is because of his innovation and efforts that the world was functional despite the pandemic. It is because of his efforts that a son connected with his mother in a different city. A student learned from his teacher without being in the classroom. A patient consulted a his doctor from home. A merchant connected with a consumer from different geography. “
The Prime Minister added: “Many technology experts tell me that it is the Code that makes a product special. Some entrepreneurs tell me that it is a Concept that matters most. Investors suggest that it is Capital that is important to scaling a product. But often what matters most is the belief that young people have in your product. Sometimes that belief is all that stands between a profitable exit and creating a unicorn. “
