New Delhi: MK Alagiri’s loyal KP Ramalingam met with BJP leader CT Ravi and made time to meet Interior Minister Amit Shah in Chennai.

There is much speculation that before the 2021 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, MK Alagiri will form a political team and may join the BJP.

According to multiple reports, Alagiri is also expected to meet with the interior minister during the latter’s visit to the southern state today.

Will Alagiri meet Amit Shah?

There is an expectation that Shah will be able to meet with main star Rajinikanth, whose decision on his political entry is expected before the state assembly elections to be held between April and May next year, PTI reported.

Shah, who is visiting the state after a period of more than a year, will address officials and the central committee of the state unit, in addition to some official commitments.

When asked about reports that Shah may meet personalities like Rajinikanth, BJP Secretary General KT Raghavan told PTI: “I will not say that he will not meet Rajinikanth.”

Tamil Nadu BJP chief L murugan had previously said that he had not received any information about Alagiri’s joining the party, adding that if he wishes, the party will welcome him.

Will decide my political position after discussing with supporters: Alagiri

However, Alagiri denied reports that he joined the BJP, telling ANI: “I am happy that he (Tamil Nadu BJP chief L Murugan) said so. But I haven’t decided anything yet. I will decide my political position after discussing it with my followers. There is no political strategy meeting on the 21st, they are all rumors ”.

Alagiri was expelled from DMK in 2016 for alleged remarks against party leaders and “anti-party” activities.

After the death of DMK patriarch Karunanidhi, Stalin became party chairman.

Just a week after Kalaignar’s death in 2018, Alagiri openly challenged his brother by saying that DMK workers were with him.

Karunanidhi had groomed Stalin as his political heir.
