Mirzapur 2 has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video. While actors such as Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu Sharmaa, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal and Harshita Gaur will reprise their roles, Vijay Varma, Priyanshu Painyuli and Isha Talwar are the new cast members this season. Created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, Mirzapur has been funded by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The web series revolves around corruption, crime, governance failure, the rule of mafia bosses, and gang wars in UP’s eastern titular city. This new season takes the story forward as the fight to become the King of Mirzapur continues between Guddu Pandit and Munna Bhaiya.
In the trailer, we saw crime lord Kaleen Bhaiya defining the rules for the people of Mirzapur, while his rebellious son Munna added his own opinion. Meanwhile, Guddu Pandit has only one thing in mind: avenging the deaths of his brother (Vikrant Massey) and his wife (Shriya Pilgaonkar). Next to him is Sweety’s sister, Golu. Aside from revenge, the two are determined to rule Mirzapur as well.
Joining the race to sit on the Mirzapur throne is Kaleen Bhaiya’s son, Rati Shankar Pandey, Sharad Shukla, Dadda Tyagi, and their grandson. Now, who will manage to win the battle, is what forms the core of the plot. The second season seems much more intense, action-packed and gory.
Mirzapur’s first season received mixed reviews, however audiences accepted it. It remains to be seen how fans will react to the new season. For now, they seem intrigued and excited enough, thanks to some excellent Amazon Prime Video marketing.

Speaking about returning to Mirzapur as Munna Bhaiya, Divyenndu Sharmaa told indianexpress.com, “Munna has this belief in himself that no one can do anything to him. He has this constant belief in himself that ‘You are the man’. He thinks ‘I can do anything and everything.’ It was lovely playing Munna in such different settings and circumstances. I really enjoyed that change of scenery. “
